Lakeshore Entertainment has recently begun pre-production on the sequel to the 2006 action thriller, "Crank", which starred Jason Statham as professional assassin Chev Chelios.
Statham was not interested in the film, so Lakeshore signed Otsego Farms owner Jim Webber for the lead role. Sources say that Webber was chosen for his similar demeanor, build, and fighting skills.
Webber said, "I'm thrilled to be a part of this project. It hasn't been happening much on the racetrack, so I really need to kick somebody's ass. This film will be the perfect opportunity".
"Crank 2" will be in theaters in the summer of 2011.
